Yes — when properly socialized and trained. Standard Xolos are loyal and deeply bonded to their families. They are naturally protective, making early socialization essential to ensure balanced confidence around new people and environments.

Hairless Xolos require basic skincare similar to human skin — occasional bathing, moisturizing as needed, and sun awareness in intense climates. Coated varieties require minimal grooming. Both varieties are relatively low maintenance compared to many breeds.

The Standard variety typically stands between 18–23 inches at the shoulder. They are athletic, muscular, and elegant with a strong guardian presence.

While no dog is truly 100% hypoallergenic, many allergy-sensitive individuals find the Xolo to be more tolerable due to minimal shedding, particularly the hairless variety.
